See it in motion
Career Mode flies in X-Plane 12, with its real flight models, weather and scenery.
For now this is the official X-Plane 12 trailer by Laminar Research, the simulator Career Mode runs in. A Career Mode video is on its way.
Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play. Then the video comes from youtube-nocookie.com.
A career, not just a flight
Every flight counts. Your licences, your money, your aircraft and your career clock carry on from one flight to the next.
Missions set up for you
Pick a mission on the board: the app loads the aircraft from your own X-Plane, places it at a stand of the departure airport and shows the mission HUD. Land, park, get paid.
Licences, exams, checkrides
A training course, a timed theory exam drawn from about 370 questions, flight hours, then a checkride graded against real test standards.
Rent, buy, haggle
Rent by the block hour, or buy from sellers: have the aircraft inspected, haggle, take a loan, have it ferried. Your aircraft wear and need their inspections.
Gliders on the winch
At gliding fields the ground crew tows you out to the winch, a wing walker runs with your wing, and a golf cart tows you back after landing.
A clock of its own
Each pilot's date only moves forward. Booked missions leave at their local time, and the bills come due whether you fly or not.
When it goes wrong
On the ground, call an ambulance, the fire brigade or the rescue helicopter from the edge of the screen.
What you need
X-Plane 12 and Windows 10 or 11. The installer brings everything else, needs no admin rights, and keeps Career Mode up to date by itself.
Where things stand
Career Mode is playable and its first public release is being prepared. Until then, the download page says "Not released yet". These pages describe what works today.
Also from Javelin Studio
Two add-ons that grew out of Career Mode and also work on their own. They build and run the world your career flies in: the tow lanes, the winch sites, the ground crew's logic.
World Editor 3D
Edit airports in 3D inside X-Plane, on the real terrain: objects, pavements and runways, routes for vehicles, trigger volumes, and sites like a glider winch.

Blueprints for X-Plane: node graphs in a visual editor, plus Lua scripts, to make the world react. Career Mode already uses them for part of its ground crew.
